The view from my El Cerrito listing at http://www.1825ganges.com
In a world where people want to see homes in their pajamas in bed, property photography needs to be stellar to grab a buyer's attention. I love working with my photographer, Peter; he totally gets me. On every photo session, I explain to Peter what I am trying to exude to potential buyers. A house is more than the rooms and the staged furniture, it is about setting the stage and giving a vibe. This photo was captured last week at 3707 Kansas Street in the Laurel District of Oakland - a sweet, sunny bungalow studded with fruit tree- love the bee on the citrus blossom.
One of the best parts of my job is seeing inspiring spaces. Today I showed a co-op for sale at 177 19th Street in Oakland. The unit was 11 floors up with a balcony that had this view.
The buds are swelling and we are now witnessing signs of Spring! Soak up the flowering magnolia's and plum blossoms before the petals drop to the earth. Now is the time to plant your tulip bulbs, trim your rose bushes down and remove the rusty leaves and start weeding your garden beds while the soil is moist.
This door knob was on a 1930's home in the Redwood Heights district of Oakland. This particular property sold needing repairs and TLC, I hope that the new owners keep this knob as it is a piece of art.
Ten years ago when my husband and I purchased our home, I decided to plant a cutting garden. I loved the idea of fresh flowers in my house and I planted 14 hybrid tea rose bushes. For nine months out of the year I have blooms to brighten my house and spirit. What I love about roses is their ability to live for decades. The other day I complimented a neighbor on a rose bush and she told me that she did not plant the shrub. She told me that it was already planted when she purchased her home over 30 years ago.
Take a second out of your busy day and enjoy the delicate tulip-like flowers that appear in late winter, early spring.
Vincent Brice and Miles Joyner admire the vintage cars in Lincoln Square parking lot, (Oakland Hills) as they sip on milkshakes from Sparky's.
Tuesday morning I was driving along Skyline Boulevard in the Oakland Hills and I was struck by the view. Oakland is such a beautiful city and one of the highlights is the view of the Bay and San Francisco. Tuesday we had thick fog that covered most of the city, but on Skyline Boulevard, I was above it all. Look at the blanket of fog!
I was just blessed to have 5 days in Cabo San Lucas with the fam, and now I am gearing up for the first day of school this Monday coming up.
I promise new articles next week. In the meanwhile here is a picture of my son Miles and his best friend Jack after skateboard camp.
