So, I am in my backyard trying to weed, prune and enhance, and I see that my roses are choked with aphids! I realize that this is the time of year to purchase ladybugs at my local Ace Grand Nursery, so I am off to purchase 100 ladybugs. I am hoping the ladybugs will do their wonders and rid my beautiful bushes of the aphids. I watered my bushes, as recommended and put the ladybugs out at night in hopes that they will have enough food and water and stay on my roses. So far only about 20-25 ladybugs have remained on my roses. Although they are eating some of the aphids, the ladybugs are barely making a dent. I will delay spraying the roses for another week and I will keep my fingers crossed that this natural remedy works.
If the aphids win the battle, I will next spray my roses with a dish soap and water solution. I will let you know!
